The Spectral Geologist Training
The Spectral Geologist or TSG™ is a suite of software products that have
become the industry standard for the majority of companies handling spectral
data.
- Presented by: AusSpec International
- Duration: 0.5-1 day, depending on
how in depth and if training is in Core or Pro (+optional days of
consulting assistance or spectral geology training)
- Content: This workshop demonstrates
the TSG functions in TSG Pro or TSG Core.
- Deliverables: A
trial TSG installation for each participant. The TSG installation contains
the TSG user manual.
Requirements
Knowledge of computer operation and windows software.
Details
This training course covers the main functions in TSG, such as:
- Creating TSG files from your project spectra in many formats (ascii, fos,
dsp, ENVI library, XSpectra, HyLogging)
- Viewing individual spectra, overlaying spectra and comparison between
different spectra within a TSG file and between different TSG files.
- Stacking spectra.
- Summary of data sets in the summary screen.
- Using The Spectral Assistant for automated interpretation.
- Plotting data in the Log and Scatter screens.
- Import of ancillary data sets (numerical and text) from spreadsheet and
csv files.
- Export of data to csv files for plotting in other software.
- Export of plots and pasting into reports and other files.
- Changing display options such as colour and line style.
- Scaling: Changing display scales, zooming and resetting.
- Creating scalars and spectral maths functions, such as:
- Spectral indices and spectral maths.
- Classification.
- Masking.
- Aux matching.
- TSG Core specific functions (if requested) such as:
- Using the Tray and Hole screens.
- Interactive depth editing.
- Creating Tray and Mosaic images.
- Scoping and creating downhole plots in the scatter screen.
- Interactive classification
- Second floater window, and scratchpad functions.
